The arrogance of “knowing”

Have you ever observed a bunch of fish and other living creatures in a home aquarium? They’re mostly ignorant of what goes on outside of the glass walls that separate them from our world, or if they are to some degree aware, that amount is insufficient to grasp entirely the existence of something else outside of their existence.

I kid you not that compared to what truly happens in our proximity at any given point in time, we are more ignorant then the fish is about the world outside of their world. Even to compare our limitedness to the limitedness of a hedgehog in daylight would be a gross misrepresentation and understatement of the true extent of our ignorance.

In reality I feel that we are observed, watched, measured and studied, like we do while researching ants, fish or any other scientific observations of beings that are less aware than we are. And our observers might be themselves observed and studied by beings beyond their capacity to perceive.

The senses perceive in a very limited way our immediate proximity, and the mind takes all that information and creates a hodgepodge story about its interpretation and translation of the sensual perception. So the story, which we ignorantly call reality is an undoubtedly mystified and fantastic version of what the senses in their very limited capacity manage to register.

The mind creates the story based on learned things (also based on the unreal) , dogmas and other “truths” that our parents were force-fed themselves in their youth and automatically gets imposed onto us in our childhood. The mind also uses memory, which is again a non-factual representation of past events, but the interpretation which distorts even more our perception and idea of what is reality.

So to put it straight, our “reality” is as far from the true reality happening inside and outside of ourselves as the danger of the fire in a painting on the wall harming us.

Now to get to the point I wanted to make: I realize how silly it is to sustain and fight for whatever knowledge, no matter what that may be with others, because all of that will be one way or another untrue, far from the Truth and both factions are fighting for their “truth” yet they are both wrong no matter what they might say.

I am by nature very fiery in sustaining my own beliefs and creeds, but Alas, it’s so sad when I realize that no matter what I discover, find out, or say it is still insufficient and very far from the REAL, since the whole understanding of things came by using the same tools of creating fictitious worlds far from the true reality, namely the limited senses and limited mind. And because the REAL can’t be verbalized, but perceived in silence.

Transcending the limited senses and mind is advancing a step closer to the unfathomable truth that is impossible to utter and grasp with the old tools that I mentioned above, but can be perceived when we let go of all worries, thoughts and struggle to make sense of whatever we are exposed to. That perception is also called a gut feeling, or intuitive sense, which is the next step, the “sixth sense” on the eternal expansion of our conscious awareness and it overrides the limited judgemental mind and the senses if properly cultivated and heeded.

Therefore we should all learn to feel beyond the 5 senses, and beyond any logic in trying to make sense of something, and know that the senses are just rudimentary tools that can’t serve us anymore on this path of self-mastery, and the inner or gut feeling is to be exercised and worked with until the silencing of the mind with its phantasmagoric interpretation that makes it just another guardian in this prison that keeps us ensnared in a mental labyrinthic construct is put to rest.

To conclude: the ones who think they know, they’re ignorants! and I am one of those because I keep on going back to the old self that fights others for ideas that are always left behind in obsolescence when we grow in awareness. So how stupid is it to fight for an idea and concept that next year will become redundant as the beliefs of children about the existence of a monster under their bed when they are grown-ups?

But I should also reiterate the fact that I observed and emphasized in previous writings that everything is true in its particular moment and to the person to which that is suitable, which in itself may seem to be contradicting the previous statements in the article avove. But if properly perceived it reminds us that everyone has its own “truths” which we might have outgrown and our truths at the moment will have to be abandoned to make place to the next level of truth that we are prepared and ready to embody, until those too are to be transcended and replaced with the higher understanding to which our humbleness and openness qualified us for. So what is there to “know”, when everything is eventually swallowed by obsolescence?

So the only thing I can affirm that I know, and not be wrong about, is that I don’t know!
