Perfectionism

Perfectionism is a huge obstacle in life to happiness because it makes one forget about how everything is perfect in its apparent imperfection,… It makes one unsatisfied with everything, continuously looking for happiness somewhere in the future, trying to fix things, forgetting about the beauty of the present moment.

Perfectionism is also a feature that can be a big obstacle in a relationship, because people are by default flawed and prone to make mistakes, so a perfectionist will start becoming more and more dissatisfied with the “mistakes” of the other, unaware of their flaws that might be easily ignored by the other, if the other is not also a perfectionist.

So ideally, we should take things easier, see the beauty of everything even with its tiny flaws and be grateful for what is, rather than always hoping continuously for something in the future that will be better… Take rather each moment of now and realize how blessed you are, and how many treasures you have that probably most of the people on the planet can’t even dream about having.

Perfectionism is a desire to control, is impossibility to accept things as they are, a feature that is mandatory for realizing how blessed and lucky we are. Perfectionists might end up pushing people and blessings away, because of their lack of appreciation and gratitude.

Perfectionism comes from lack of proper appreciation from parents, teachers and lovers in an early age, the perfectionist feels always “not enough” and projects the same feeling onto people, things and events, unaware of the risk of creating and attracting people, things and events that will continuously feed this distortion, because life tries to show that everything is perfect in its apparent imperfect state, and we should rather let go of the hope of something else, but accept what is already given, exactly as it is.

We are always enough, rest. Accept. Be!

You are perfect! Unique!
